The average flakes; of potatoes import price stood at $1,191 per ton in December 2021, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2021 an increase of 3.1% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,309 per ton in January 2021; however, from February 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1,210 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($731 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($1,943 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($1,214 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
