In 2022, the average flakes; of potatoes import price amounted to $1,806 per ton, surging by 8.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a slight slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 53% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,130 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Belarus.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Moldova amounted to -3.5% per year.

In 2022, overseas purchases of flakes; of potatoeses decreased by -13.1% to 169 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 513% against the previous year.
