The average flakes; of potatoes import price stood at $1,436 per ton in 2022, increasing by 2.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,008 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from the United States ($1,479 per ton) and the Netherlands ($1,416 per ton), while the price for Germany ($1,151 per ton) and Poland ($1,245 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average flakes; of potatoes export price stood at $1,333 per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 15%. The export price peaked at $2,707 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($2,588 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($950 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+20.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the amount of flakes; of potatoeses imported into Vietnam rose sharply to 1.4K tons, surging by 14% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible decrease.

In value terms, flakes; of potatoes imports skyrocketed to $1.9M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a pronounced descent.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of flakes; of potatoeses, when their volume increased by 30% to 13 tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep reduction.

In value terms, flakes; of potatoes exports skyrocketed to $17K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a sharp shrinkage.
