The average flax yarn import price stood at $3,756 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -3.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 41% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $13,704 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($12,412 per ton), while the price for France ($2,166 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
