Folding Boxboard Price in the Philippines (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average folding boxboard import price amounted to $1,631 per ton, with an increase of 8.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 8.3% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($3,540 per ton), while the price for Chile ($1,212 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Folding Boxboard Price in the Philippines (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average folding boxboard export price amounted to $2,164 per ton, picking up by 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 423%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($2,612 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($631 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+962.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Folding Boxboard Imports in the Philippines
In 2022, approx. 281K tons of folding boxboard were imported into the Philippines; picking up by 66% on the year before.
