Footwear Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average footwear import price amounted to $11 per pair, with an increase of 16% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a slight decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 55%. The import price peaked at $13 per pair in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($21 per pair), while the price for Turkey ($3.2 per pair) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+15.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Footwear Price in Hungary (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average footwear export price amounted to $18 per pair, declining by -3.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $22 per pair in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($29 per pair), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($3.3 per pair) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Footwear Imports in Hungary
In 2022, the amount of footwear imported into Hungary contracted to 54M pairs, with a decrease of -6% against 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt descent. The smallest decline of -5.6% was in 2021. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at 67M pairs in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, footwear imports rose significantly to $581M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years.
