The average fresh pork cut import price stood at $3,713 per ton in June 2023, with an increase of 8.3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 9.1% month-to-month. The import price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($5,350 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($3,184 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fresh Pork Cut Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average fresh pork cut export price amounted to $2,649 per ton, with an increase of 3.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 24%. From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
