Fresh Whole Chicken Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average fresh whole chicken export price amounted to $2,939 per ton, jumping by 62% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a prominent expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($3,982 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($2,596 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fresh Whole Chicken Exports in Brazil
In 2022, overseas shipments of fresh or chilled whole chickens decreased by -72.1% to 35 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 148% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 127 tons, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
In value terms, fresh whole chicken exports fell dramatically to $104K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 144%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $230K, and then fell significantly in the following year.
