Frozen Crustaceans Price in Denmark (FOB) - 2023
The average frozen crustaceans export price stood at $7,088 per ton in August 2023, rising by 3.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $7,109 per ton in June 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to August 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($14,295 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($4,318 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+12.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Crustaceans Price in Denmark (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average frozen crustaceans import price amounted to $5,698 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 22% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,174 per ton. From April 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($9,510 per ton), while the price for Canada ($3,908 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Frozen Crustaceans Exports in Denmark
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of frozen crustaceans decreased by -3.3% to 81K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 17%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 84K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, frozen crustaceans exports rose modestly to $513M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 20%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, frozen crustaceans imports rose significantly to $419M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +11.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14%.
