Frozen Crustaceans Price in Myanmar (FOB) - 2022
The average frozen crustaceans export price stood at $3,619 per ton in December 2022, with a decrease of -19.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 19% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $5,700 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($7,142 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($2,668 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+24.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Crustaceans Price in Myanmar (CIF) - 2022
The average frozen crustaceans import price stood at $8,816 per ton in 2022, growing by 40% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, frozen crustaceans import price decreased by -13.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 87% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $10,196 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($9,063 per ton), while the price for Japan totaled $6,427 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

After two years of decline, overseas shipments of frozen crustaceans increased by 29% to 24K tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a abrupt decline.
