Frozen Fruit Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average frozen fruit import price amounted to $3,279 per ton, declining by -4.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a mild expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 13% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,499 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($4,783 per ton), while the price for North Macedonia ($1,665 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Morocco (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Fruit Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2023
The average frozen fruit export price stood at $3,071 per ton in June 2023, with a decrease of -9.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 27% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,563 per ton. From August 2022 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($4,874 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($1,641 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Fruit Imports in Croatia
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of frozen fruits decreased by -10.9% to 6.1K tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +56.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 6.9K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, frozen fruit imports rose notably to $20M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Frozen Fruit Exports in Croatia
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of frozen fruits, when their volume decreased by -10.1% to 3.5K tons. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +53.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 45%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 3.9K tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, frozen fruit exports expanded significantly to $12M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 84%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
