Frozen Strawberries Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
The average frozen strawberries import price stood at $1,166 per ton in January 2022, reducing by -2.2% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2021 an increase of 13% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,193 per ton in December 2021, and then shrank slightly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($2,161 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($1,051 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average frozen strawberries export price stood at $1,334 per ton in 2022, declining by -7.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,783 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Turkmenistan ($1,789 per ton) and Ukraine ($1,454 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($1,254 per ton) and Kazakhstan ($1,347 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (-3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Frozen Strawberries Imports in Russia
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of frozen strawberrieses decreased by -10.3% to 30K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 26%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 34K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, frozen strawberries imports declined to $27M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 33%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $31M, and then shrank in the following year.

Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 80% against the previous year.
In value terms, frozen strawberries exports shrank rapidly to $841K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 54% against the previous year.
