Frozen Strawberries Price in Sri Lanka (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average frozen strawberries import price amounted to $1,737 per ton, waning by -8.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 23% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,906 per ton, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($2,248 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($145 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average frozen strawberries export price stood at $3,854 per ton in 2022, declining by -6.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 74%. The export price peaked at $5,041 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3,915 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Maldives (-11.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Frozen Strawberries Imports in Sri Lanka
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of frozen strawberrieses, when their volume increased by 347% to 51 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a dramatic decline.
In value terms, frozen strawberries imports soared to $89K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a sharp shrinkage.

In 2022, overseas shipments of frozen strawberrieses were finally on the rise to reach 123 kg after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, showed a dramatic contraction.
In value terms, frozen strawberries exports surged to $474 in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, faced a dramatic downturn.
