Frozen Turkey Cut Price in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average frozen turkey cut import price amounted to $690 per ton, falling by -30.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $991 per ton in July 2023, and then declined markedly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,200 per ton), while the price for Poland ($652 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Frozen Turkey Cut Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
The average frozen turkey cut export price stood at $3,611 per ton in August 2023, shrinking by -2.4% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 10% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $5,038 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Greece ($4,147 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($1,200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cameroon (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Frozen Turkey Cut Imports in Ukraine
In 2022, approx. 3.5K tons of frozen turkey cuts were imported into Ukraine; which is down by -51.5% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a dramatic shrinkage. The smallest decline of -0.8% was in 2021.
In value terms, frozen turkey cut imports fell notably to $2.5M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $5.3M, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
