Frozen Whole Chicken Price in France (FOB) - 2023
The average frozen whole chicken export price stood at $2,094 per ton in August 2023, shrinking by -2.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,281 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was New Caledonia ($3,725 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($1,436 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Democratic Republic of the Congo (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Whole Chicken Price in France (CIF) - 2023
The average frozen whole chicken import price stood at $2,915 per ton in August 2023, which is down by -8.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 18% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3,452 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,021 per ton), while the price for the UK ($1,165 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas shipments of frozen whole chickens were finally on the rise to reach 92K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a perceptible descent.
