The average frozen yellowfin tuna import price stood at $18,667 per ton in 2022, reducing by -7.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a measured expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 34%. The import price peaked at $27,102 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($19,317 per ton), while the price for Thailand amounted to $5,119 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average frozen yellowfin tuna export price amounted to $9,785 per ton, jumping by 90% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a moderate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 121%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $21,275 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
