Fructose Price in Portugal (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average fructose import price amounted to $2,261 per ton, surging by 10% against the previous month. Overall, the import price posted a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 55% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,403 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($3,316 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,260 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fructose Price in Portugal (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average fructose export price amounted to $2,935 per ton, falling by -31% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a pronounced expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 176% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $6,903 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($50,508 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($1,968 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
