Fruit and Berry Price in China (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average fruit and berry import price amounted to $2,181 per ton, with an increase of 4.9% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fruit and berry import price increased by +105.2% against 2012 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 29%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($5,439 per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($156 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+9.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fruit and Berry Price in China (FOB) - 2022
The average fruit and berry export price stood at $1,324 per ton in 2022, falling by -9.3% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,613 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($1,656 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($824 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fruit and Berry Imports in China
Fruit and berry imports into China reached 5.8M tons in 2022, approximately reflecting 2021 figures. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 7.7%.
In value terms, fruit and berry imports totaled $12.7B in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +47.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Fruit and Berry Exports in China
In 2022, shipments abroad of fruits and berries decreased by -7.9% to 3.1M tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports recorded a pronounced decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 8.3% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3.7M tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, fruit and berry exports fell rapidly to $4.1B in 2022. In general, exports showed a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 18%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $5.9B. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
