Fruit Price in Colombia (FOB) - 2022
The average fruit export price stood at $569 per ton in 2022, dropping by -8.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 6.6%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $625 per ton, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($963 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($349 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average fruit import price stood at $1,145 per ton in 2022, dropping by -5.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 6.3% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,209 per ton, and then shrank in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Peru ($2,304 per ton), while the price for Ecuador ($261 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fruit Exports in Colombia
In 2022, approx. 2.6M tons of fruits were exported from Colombia; surging by 4.5% compared with the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 9.7% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, fruit exports shrank to $1.5B in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 11%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $1.5B, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
