Fruit Price in Romania (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average fruit import price amounted to $853 per ton, reducing by -5.2% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 17%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $900 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($1,437 per ton), while the price for Poland ($522 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average fruit export price stood at $633 per ton in 2022, declining by -20.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 34%. The export price peaked at $798 per ton in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($995 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($280 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+12.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fruit Imports in Romania
In 2022, imports of fruits into Romania rose slightly to 828K tons, with an increase of 1.7% against the year before. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, fruit imports contracted slightly to $706M in 2022.
