In 2022, the average ginger import price amounted to $3,022 per ton, waning by -24.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a mild reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 45% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,997 per ton, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($4,892 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,644 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 31% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $11,007 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($21,518 per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($3,537 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (-0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Ginger Imports in Estonia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of ginger increased by 24% to 185 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, recorded a precipitous curtailment.
