Gingerbread Price in Bulgaria (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average gingerbread import price amounted to $2,712 per ton, waning by -3.6% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a measured increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, gingerbread import price decreased by -3.6% against May 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 an increase of 84% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,234 per ton. From October 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($3,234 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($2,248 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Gingerbread Price in Bulgaria (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average gingerbread export price amounted to $5,411 per ton, dropping by -19.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 82% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $7,207 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($3,957 per ton), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($2,656 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+12.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Gingerbread Imports in Bulgaria
For the fourth year in a row, Bulgaria recorded growth in overseas purchases of gingerbread, which increased by 52% to 1.2K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a significant increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, gingerbread imports skyrocketed to $2.6M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +24.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +91.6% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
