Glass Fibre Voiles Price in Malaysia (CIF) - 2021

In December 2021, the average glass fibre voiles import price amounted to $5,678 per ton, reducing by -21.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 an increase of 72% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $15,089 per ton in February 2021; however, from March 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was the UK ($10,851 per ton), while the price for China ($1,069 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average glass fibre voiles export price amounted to $4,211 per ton, growing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 39%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $11,746 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($24,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($1,953 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Glass Fibre Voiles Imports in Malaysia

In 2022, approx. 427 tons of glass fibre voiles were imported into Malaysia; waning by -26.6% against 2021. In general, imports showed a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 50%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 582 tons, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

In value terms, glass fibre voiles imports contracted to $3.4M in 2022. In value terms, glass fibre voiles exports rose slightly to $68K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 48%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $71K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
