Green Bean Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average green bean export price amounted to $2,670 per ton, with a decrease of -4.9% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 56% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $2,807 per ton in May 2023, and then declined slightly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,600 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($339 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Myanmar (+217.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Green Bean Price in China (CIF) - 2022
The average green bean import price stood at $2,091 per ton in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 135%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,099 per ton in 2021, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,410 per ton), while the price for Myanmar amounted to $3,569 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Green Bean Exports in China
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of green beans decreased by -20.1% to 81K tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 1,972%.
In value terms, green bean exports expanded modestly to $179M in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 3,565%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Green Bean Imports in China
In 2022, overseas purchases of green beans decreased by -2% to 137 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 8.5%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 140 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, green bean imports declined modestly to $286K in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
