Green Bean Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average green bean import price stood at $2,917 per ton in June 2023, shrinking by -2.9% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a slight increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, green bean import price increased by +3.0% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 28% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,211 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from the Netherlands ($3,166 per ton) and Belgium ($3,041 per ton), while the price for Spain ($2,478 per ton) and Egypt ($2,644 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Green Bean Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
The average green bean export price stood at $1,547 per ton in June 2023, waning by -21.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 181% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,570 per ton. From March 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($4,088 per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($586 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Green Bean Imports in Germany
In 2022, imports of green beans into Germany shrank to 24K tons, reducing by -10.8% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 6.9%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 27K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, green bean imports fell dramatically to $54M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 11%.

Green Bean Exports in Germany
For the third consecutive year, Germany recorded decline in shipments abroad of green beans, which decreased by -32.8% to 11K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a dramatic slump. The smallest decline of -14.9% was in 2020.
In value terms, green bean exports declined dramatically to $10M in 2022. In general, exports faced a sharp shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 1.8%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $20M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
