Green Coffee Price in Nepal (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average green coffee export price amounted to $12,142 per ton, increasing by 5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, green coffee export price increased by +55.7% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 36%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($18,477 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($948 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average green coffee import price amounted to $2,896 per ton, falling by -12.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $4,319 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for India.

Green Coffee Exports in Nepal
Green coffee exports from Nepal expanded markedly to 71 tons in 2022, growing by 7% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, exports, however, faced a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 49%.
In value terms, green coffee exports rose markedly to $867K in 2022.
