Green Coffee Price in Peru (FOB) - 2021
The average green coffee export price stood at $2,288 per ton in April 2020, declining by -6.6% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a abrupt descent. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,003 per ton. From February 2020 to April 2020, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Australia ($3,502 per ton), while the average price for exports to Colombia ($1,539 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2020 to April 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Green Coffee Price in Peru (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average green coffee import price amounted to $1,835 per ton, remaining stable against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 11%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,310 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($1,999 per ton), while the price for Ecuador ($448 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (-2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Green Coffee Exports in Peru
In 2022, overseas shipments of coffee (green) were finally on the rise to reach 202K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable downturn.
In value terms, green coffee exports dropped to $698M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 18%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $757M, and then declined in the following year.

Green Coffee Imports in Peru
Green coffee imports into Peru declined notably to 159 tons in 2022, shrinking by -24.6% on 2021 figures. In general, total imports indicated moderate growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +48.3% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 97% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 211 tons, and then fell sharply in the following year.
In value terms, green coffee imports declined markedly to $292K in 2022. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 89% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $383K, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
