Green Coffee Price in Slovenia (CIF) - 2023
The average green coffee import price stood at $3,834 per ton in September 2023, increasing by 3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 8.1% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $4,005 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($5,466 per ton), while the price for Uganda ($3,025 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Green Coffee Price in Slovenia (FOB) - 2023
The average green coffee export price stood at $3,896 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 3.1% against the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 12% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $3,986 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($4,897 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($3,204 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Albania (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Green Coffee Imports in Slovenia
In 2022, purchases abroad of coffee (green) decreased by -38.2% to 17K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 61%.
In value terms, green coffee imports shrank to $61M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.5% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 42% against the previous year.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of coffee (green), when their volume decreased by -65.1% to 6.4K tons. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 136%.
In value terms, green coffee exports reduced remarkably to $23M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 105%.
