Groundnut Oil Price in Peru (CIF) - 2022
The average groundnut oil import price stood at $4,579 per ton in 2022, declining by -8.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 14%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,437 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,952 per ton), while the price for Italy ($3,083 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Groundnut Oil Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022
The average groundnut oil export price stood at $2,971 per ton in 2022, falling by -21.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 108% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,364 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($8,511 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($771 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Groundnut Oil Imports in Peru
In 2022, overseas purchases of groundnut oil decreased by -14.3% to 24 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, posted significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 81%.
In value terms, groundnut oil imports dropped markedly to $109K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 97%.
