Groundnut Oil Price in South Korea (CIF) - 2022
The average groundnut oil import price stood at $5,400 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -1.9% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,859 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($15,602 per ton), while the price for Israel ($1,887 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+19.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average groundnut oil export price amounted to $1,991 per ton, which is down by -33.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 91%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $3,242 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($8,947 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($976 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+65.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
