In 2022, the average gum arabic import price amounted to $5,253 per ton, with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 87% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $5,804 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
