The average hand saws export price stood at $8,283 per ton in August 2023, approximately equating the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 8.6% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $9,059 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($12,851 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($3,112 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average hand saws import price stood at $18,320 per ton in 2022, jumping by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 32% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $34,215 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($55,760 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($4,358 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
