Hardboard Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average hardboard import price amounted to $793 per cubic meter, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 13% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $934 per cubic meter. From February 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,355 per cubic meter), while the price for Poland ($774 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Hardboard Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023
The average hardboard export price stood at $527 per cubic meter in September 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $605 per cubic meter in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Sweden ($610 per cubic meter) and Finland ($559 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Poland ($489 per cubic meter) and Germany ($498 per cubic meter) were amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Hardboard Imports in Lithuania
In 2022, approx. 115K cubic meters of hardboard were imported into Lithuania; increasing by 3.7% on 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 22%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
