Hardboard Price in Tanzania (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average hardboard import price amounted to $441 per cubic meter, surging by 9.2% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, hardboard import price increased by +30.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 25%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $583 per cubic meter in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($574 per cubic meter), while the price for South Africa ($118 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kenya (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kenya ($380 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($241 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Democratic Republic of the Congo (-1.1%).
Hardboard Imports in Tanzania
In 2022, supplies from abroad of hardboard was finally on the rise to reach 4K cubic meters for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend.
