Hazelnut Price in the United States (FOB) - 2023
The average hazelnut export price stood at $4,385 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 59% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 70% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,911 per ton. From January 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($4,891 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($2,116 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average hazelnut import price stood at $5,530 per ton in 2022, picking up by 57% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate buoyant growth. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,255 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
