Inedible Fish Products Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average inedible fish products export price amounted to $8,350 per ton, declining by -36.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a mild increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, inedible fish products export price decreased by -36.4% against May 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 103% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $13,796 per ton. From March 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($53,941 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($955 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+25.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Inedible Fish Products Price in China (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average inedible fish products import price amounted to $3,287 per ton, increasing by 49% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, inedible fish products import price increased by +122.1% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($7,442 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($1,348 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tanzania (+13.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Inedible Fish Products Exports in China
In 2022, the amount of inedible fish products exported from China shrank significantly to 4.5K tons, which is down by -22.6% compared with 2021. Overall, exports faced a sharp decline. The smallest decline of -15.7% was in 2020.
In value terms, inedible fish products exports amounted to $43M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
