Ink Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2022
The average ink import price stood at $57,847 per ton in 2022, picking up by 25% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 80%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $58,959 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($153,076 per ton), while the price for Spain ($16,761 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+38.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Ink Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average ink export price amounted to $35,974 per ton, waning by -31.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 45%. The export price peaked at $142,695 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($45,848 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($11,446 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Ink Imports in Slovakia
In 2022, overseas purchases of inks (excluding printing ink) decreased by -25.4% to 690 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 582% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.3K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, ink imports reduced to $40M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 197%.

Ink Exports in Slovakia
Ink exports from Slovakia expanded notably to 454 tons in 2022, with an increase of 13% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 425%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 687 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ink exports shrank markedly to $16M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a buoyant increase.
