Insecticide Price in New Zealand (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average insecticide import price amounted to $14,460 per ton, rising by 7.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 27%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $16,006 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($47,859 per ton), while the price for Switzerland ($3,801 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average insecticide export price amounted to $13,508 per ton, reducing by -9.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 50%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $34,929 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($18,830 per ton), while the average price for exports to Samoa ($5,377 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+16.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Insecticide Imports in New Zealand
In 2022, supplies from abroad of insecticides decreased by -44.2% to 4.6K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 6.1%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 8.5K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, insecticide imports fell dramatically to $67M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year.
