Kiwi Fruit Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average kiwi fruit import price stood at $6,015 per ton in September 2022, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated measured growth from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, kiwi fruit import price increased by +18.6% against July 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 104% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,053 per ton. From May 2022 to September 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($6,124 per ton), while the price for China totaled $3,580 per ton.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Kiwi Fruit Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
The average kiwi fruit export price stood at $6,224 per ton in September 2022, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a notable expansion from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, kiwi fruit export price increased by +3.7% against June 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 when the average export price increased by 31% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $8,458 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In September 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Malaysia ($6,370 per ton) and Brunei Darussalam ($6,335 per ton), while the average price for exports to Timor-Leste ($5,791 per ton) and Indonesia ($5,997 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cambodia (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Kiwi Fruit Imports in Singapore
In 2022, purchases abroad of kiwi fruits decreased by -18.6% to 5.1K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports recorded a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 13%.
In value terms, kiwi fruit imports fell significantly to $21M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 21% against the previous year.

Kiwi Fruit Exports in Singapore
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of kiwi fruits, when their volume decreased by -16% to 392 tons. In general, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +39.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 467 tons, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
