The average knife and scissors import price stood at $7.4 per unit in August 2023, picking up by 11% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a mild increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 an increase of 19% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $8.9 per unit in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($29.1 per unit), while the price for Sweden ($4.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
