Lard Price in Belgium (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average lard export price amounted to $1,100 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 3.4% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,559 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the UK.
From October 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the UK amounted to 0.0% per month.
Lard Price in Belgium (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average lard import price amounted to $1,172 per ton, declining by -4.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 120% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,761 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,354 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($836 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
