Lead Price in Guatemala (CIF) - 2022
The average lead import price stood at $3,793 per ton in 2022, dropping by -7.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, lead import price increased by +10.7% against 2020 indices. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average lead export price stood at $1,168 per ton in 2022, reducing by -44.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,291 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Honduras.

Lead Imports in Guatemala
In 2022, overseas purchases of lead decreased by -1.4% to 63 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 105% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 92 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
