Leek Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2022
The average leek import price stood at $778 per ton in 2022, dropping by -10.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded tangible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 91% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $982 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,813 per ton), while the price for Albania ($402 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Leek Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2022
The average leek export price stood at $901 per ton in 2022, which is down by -1.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 157%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $916 per ton, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($1,359 per ton), while the average price for exports to Montenegro ($260 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Leek Imports in Serbia
In 2022, approx. 1.3K tons of leeks and other alliaceous vegetables were imported into Serbia; declining by -25% against 2021.
