Lemon and Lime Price in China (FOB) - 2023
The average lemon and lime export price stood at $1,097 per ton in September 2023, which is down by -14.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a mild downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 55% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,641 per ton. From February 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Thailand ($1,211 per ton) and Bahrain ($1,127 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($916 per ton) and Saudi Arabia ($959 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bahrain (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Lemon and Lime Price in China (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average lemon and lime import price amounted to $1,074 per ton, reducing by -17.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,320 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
