Lemon and Lime Price in Romania (CIF) - 2023
The average lemon and lime import price stood at $1,349 per ton in August 2023, surging by 4.3% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 8.7% against the previous month. The import price peaked in August 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,890 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($783 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Lemon and Lime Price in Romania (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average lemon and lime export price amounted to $885 per ton, falling by -42.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,547 per ton in 2021, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($3,218 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($766 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of lemons and limes into Romania shrank modestly to 60K tons, falling by -2.3% against 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a mild decline. The smallest decline of -1.3% was in 2020.
