Lettuce and Chicory Price in Latvia (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average lettuce and chicory import price amounted to $3,707 per ton, picking up by 2.8% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 19% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,163 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($10,052 per ton), while the price for Poland ($2,006 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
