Liquefied Butanes Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average liquefied butanes import price amounted to $803 per ton, surging by 17% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 59% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $860 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Poland ($931 per ton) and Austria ($880 per ton), while the price for Russia ($758 per ton) and Romania ($773 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (-0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average liquefied butanes export price amounted to $828 per ton, with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 39%. The export price peaked at $1,031 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($4,252 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($694 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+22.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of liquefied butaneses, when their volume decreased by -33.7% to 104K tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 43%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 157K tons, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, liquefied butanes imports declined remarkably to $84M in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 128% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $108M, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
