Liquefied Butanes Price in the United States (FOB) - 2023
The average liquefied butanes export price stood at $1,920 per ton in September 2023, leveling off at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 11% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,363 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($2,616 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($1,531 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Liquefied Butanes Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average liquefied butanes import price amounted to $1,780 per ton, surging by 5.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 22% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,336 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($3,316 per ton), while the price for Canada amounted to $1,763 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+1.4%).
Liquefied Butanes Exports in the United States
For the fourth year in a row, the United States recorded growth in shipments abroad of liquefied butaneses, which increased by 7.7% to 17M tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 88%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
