The average liquefied propane export price stood at $82,454 per ton in 2022, reducing by -15.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 22,956%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $97,250 per ton, and then shrank notably in the following year.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($112,223 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($87,513 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Liquefied Propane Imports in Oman

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of liquefied propanes decreased by -28.1% to 211 tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 129% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 294 tons, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, liquefied propane imports contracted modestly to $306K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 2.6% against the previous year.
