Liquefied Propane Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average liquefied propane import price amounted to $575 per ton, picking up by 5.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 7.4% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $736 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from the Netherlands ($684 per ton) and Sweden ($642 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($463 per ton) and Russia ($470 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Liquefied Propane Price in Poland (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average liquefied propane export price amounted to $904 per ton, jumping by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 73%. The export price peaked at $941 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($1,100 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($699 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Liquefied Propane Imports in Poland

For the fourth consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in purchases abroad of liquefied propanes, which increased by 40% to 1.2M tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +55.0% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, liquefied propane imports surged to $821M in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Liquefied Propane Exports in Poland

In 2022, overseas shipments of liquefied propanes were finally on the rise to reach 107K tons after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible downturn.

In value terms, liquefied propane exports skyrocketed to $97M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a prominent expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
